WHY DO PEOPLE WANT TO GO ABROAD?

Everybody in the world usually wants to live in a perfect life. They have different purpose for doing something that they want. Many people want to get new things, so they go to foreign countries. This paper will discuss about why people want to go abroad. The main reasons of going overseas are education, war, and job opportunities.
First, they want to go abroad because of education. Many rich people want their children to study abroad because educational system in developed countries is better than educational system in Cambodia. In developed countries, there are many famous universities, modern technology, good books, and a lot of qualified teachers. If they graduate from those countries and go back to Cambodia, they get a good job with high salary. For example, many Cambodian students are studying in France, Japan, the USA, and South Korea.
Second, they want to go abroad because of war. Specifically, the war damaged social structure and killed many people; so many people who survived will flee from their homeland to other counties because they needed safety, food, and good place to stay. For instance, after Pol Pot regime, many people traveled to Thailand and Vietnam to get enough food, good place, and safety.
Finally, they want to go abroad because of job opportunities. In Cambodia there are a lot of poor people, but there aren’t enough jobs to do and salary is low, too. Therefore, many poor people go to find jobs outside because the salary is higher than Cambodia. For example, many Khmer workers have gone to work in Thailand, Malaysia, Australia, and South Korea to earn money to support their family.
In conclusion, people want to go abroad because of education, war, and job opportunities. I think it’s good to do something that we want to do. It’s the best solution to develop our countries to be as prosperous as Angkor generation.
